Last summer, my clients Zara and Tyler called and requested these dusty rose wedding invitations for their December destination wedding. They already had a full vision of what they wanted: beautiful, soft, feminine, almost handwritten. I couldn’t have been happier with the way they turned out!
Dusty Rose Invitation Inspiration

Zara loved the combination of dusty pink and soft white cardstocks with a kraft envelope. Her vision was to have a 1/16″ border of dusty rose showing around the invitation.
Since we live in different states, I sent swatches of the papers to her and the groom so they could see and feel them in person. Photos on a screen just aren’t reliable for those kinds of things!
Wedding Invitation Calligraphy
All of the text in this suite is handwritten calligraphy. Zara kept the text soft by opting for chocolate brown ink.
The names of the now-newlyweds are emphasized in flowing, modern calligraphy.
In contrast, the rest of the text is a clean, pared down Italic Script.

RSVP Card

Since their wedding was in South Africa, Zara and Tyler used to a QR code on their RSVP card.
We used handwritten calligraphy for this as well, and Tyler enjoyed the flourish at the bottom of the card!
Envelope Selection
It took some time and several paper samples before we decided on these tan Cards & Pockets envelopes with a deep v in the back.
While the kraft papers were lovely, they just weren’t the right texture and weight to carry these lovely invitations to their destinations!

Producing the Invitations

Zaf, Samantha, and Katie at The Gloo Factory were all so helpful in getting these beautiful invitations prepped and printed! They were so easy to work with and everything turned out wonderfully!
And I’m still obsessing about this gorgeous bow Zara tied around the completed invitation!
