Zeta, my client, had a sudden idea for a family tree to celebrate her parents’ 60th wedding anniversary. The family was going to be together for a wedding celebration and she wanted to present the family tree to them as a surprise. Zeta sent me a rough draft and some elements she wanted included.

I enjoyed creating layouts for this 60th wedding anniversary piece. It features Italic Calligraphy in varying weights. I used lines and boxes to decoratively organize and group information. This project was a great example in a presentation I gave for the Calligraphic Society of Arizona in September. The topic was Calligraphy Layout and Composition. Since I always use archival materials for works like this, the 60th wedding anniversary family tree can continue to tell the family story for years to come.
