Join me for an afternoon artful lettering!
In this 3-hour class, we’ll explore techniques for drawing large initial letters and decorating them using Medieval-style ornamentation. We’ll talk about traditional materials and methods. You’ll finish class with a completed letter and several adornments for your future letters! Use them in your calligraphic work, give them on their own as gifts, or bind them into a handmade book for display. All skill levels welcome.
Included in Class

- reference drawings of each letter of the alphabet
- several examples of adornment you can add to your letters
- step-by-step notes for drawing, decorating, painting, and finishing your letter

I chose the supplies to the right so that you will have them to continue to draw and practice the letters on your own.
I will have extra supplies with me, just in case you need them!
Supply List
- mechanical pencil with an eraser
- larger eraser
- ruler, t-square, or a straight edge
- fineline marker such as a Micron 01
- colored pencils and a pencil sharpener
