Fall in love with a calligraphy practice. In Broad Edge Calligraphy for Beginners, you’ll explore the basics of writing with a broad edge calligraphy pen. You will learn Foundational Hand, a script created by Edward Johnston based on the Roman Minuscules alphabet. This is a great hand to start with to learn to study other calligraphic hands later on.
We’re offering the class in morning and evening sessions. We’ll meet Zoom. There will be four 2-hour live sessions and the recordings will be available to review for a limited time.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to work with a broad-edge calligraphy pen
- Basic strokes, letter and word spacing, and letter connections
- How to support your regular calligraphy practice
- Ways to vary the script for your creative needs
- Exemplar and practice pages in PDF form
- 4 Live 2-hour sessions with individual guidance available
- Limited-time access to recorded class
How We’ll Meet
For the time being, all sessions will be held over Zoom. Sessions will be recorded and available for two weeks after class. You’ll receive an e-mail from us with an invitation to the meeting and a reminder of what day and time the class is. During the Zoom meeting, you will be able to see both my face and have a great view of my paper. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and see plenty of demonstrations.
